Ken Buchanan was a Scottish professional boxer who competed from 1961 to 1982. He is best known for winning the WBA and Lineal Lightweight titles in 1970, defeating Ismael Laguna. He also held the British Lightweight title twice, and the European Lightweight title. Buchanan was known for his skillful boxing style, durability, and relentless pressure. His career highlights include victories over Laguna, Carlos Ortiz, and Jim Watt. Despite facing numerous challenges throughout his career, including managerial disputes and weight issues, Buchanan remained a popular and respected figure in the boxing world. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2000. After retiring from boxing, he struggled with financial difficulties and health problems.
